Takumi's Hachiroku's engine blows up in the battle with kyoichi Sudo, and is replaced with a new engine procured by his father Bunta. This super high-revving engine was previously installed in Group A's AE101, and Takumi takes on numerous battles as the ace downhill rider in the Project D launched by Ryosuke Takahashi with the new Hachiroku.
